This is obtained from the fruit of Cocos Nucifera belonging to family. It contains triglycerides of saturated fatty acids mostly lauric and myristic acids. It also contains glyceryl esters of other fatty acids like caproic,capric, caprylic and oleic acid. It has excellent antibacterial, astringent, and bactericidal properties. It gets easily absorbed in the skin and gives a good nourishing property. The saturated fat in coconut oil is made of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs). One study found that lauric and capric acids exhibited antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Coconut oil can bind with sebum and other lipid-soluble surface impurities, pulling out dirt and unclogging pores while nourishing your skin with vitamin E, omega-3 fatty acids, and lauric acid. It reduces inflammation and also reduces the damage caused by free radicals.
